Kerberos Authentication Check Scanner

Created
01/27/2023

Description

This module will test Kerberos logins on a range of machines and report successful logins. If you have loaded a database plugin and connected to a database this module will record successful logins and hosts so you can track your access. Kerberos accounts which do not require pre-authentication will have the TGT logged for offline cracking, this technique is known as AS-REP Roasting. It is also able to identify whether user accounts are enabled or disabled/locked out.

Module Options

To display the available options, load the module within the Metasploit console and run the commands 'show options' or 'show advanced':

msf > use auxiliary/scanner/kerberos/kerberos_login
msf auxiliary(kerberos_login) > show actions
    ...actions...
msf auxiliary(kerberos_login) > set ACTION < action-name >
msf auxiliary(kerberos_login) > show options
    ...show and set options...
msf auxiliary(kerberos_login) > run

Time is precious, so I don’t want to do something manually that I can automate. Leveraging the Metasploit Framework when automating any task keeps us from having to re-create the wheel as we can use the existing libraries and focus our efforts where it matters.
