How is Exposure Command Priced?
The Exposure Command product family is priced with a tiered model based on the average number of assets monitored across your environment. Assets are calculated as the daily max resource count identified by the platform, averaged over the course of the trailing 90 days, which helps avoid volatility based on short term bursts. Discovered assets - including externally discovered assets via EASM - are included at no additional cost.

What is the cost of each product?
Surface Command pricing begins at $7/asset, Exposure Command begins at $23/asset and Exposure Command Advanced begins at $49/asset.

How do you define an asset?
We define an asset as the following:
- Network Devices/Endpoints/Workstations (counted on a 1:1 ratio)
- Applications (counted on a 1:1 ratio)
- Compute Instance (counted on a 1:1 ratio)
- Container Cluster (counted on a 1:2 ratio)
- Serverless Function (counted on 50:1 ratio)

Does this pricing include onboarding support?
Yes! Surface Command, Exposure Command and Exposure Command Advanced all include onboarding services to ensure customers can get up and running quickly and realize immediate value.

Is there different pricing for international customers?
No. There is no difference in pricing for any of these solutions depending on which region you’re in.

Are there yearly price plans?
Yes. All Exposure Command subscriptions are offered as an annual contract.

Is there a volume discount for buying more than 1,000 assets?
Yes. Surface Command, Exposure Command and Exposure Command Advanced are all priced by asset. The price per asset decreases across asset count tiers.

Are assets ingested into Surface Command from 3rd party sources priced differently than those from other Rapid7 products (i.e. InsightVM)?
No. Assets are priced at the same rate regardless of whether they’re ingested via a 3rd party security tool or a Rapid7 solution.

Will I be charged twice to ingest asset data from a 3rd party tool that is also being scanned by another Rapid7 product (i.e. Endpoint with a Crowdstrike Agent and a Rapid7 Scan Engine)?
No. Surface Command utilizes a proprietary correlation engine to de-duplicate assets from multiple sources simultaneously and customers are only charged for the total number of unique assets ingested.
